Retirement!


Elliots Head Mistress, Mrs Roan retired yesterday, And Elliot asked me if I could bake her a cake. Elliot helped out with making the sponge, hes a mean egg breaker!! Luckily they all went in the sponge and not on the floor!!! The cake is 14" x 8".

Cream Tea!

Isn't it amazing, I bought Clotted Cream to make Strawberries and Cream Shortbread{see earlier post!} and end up making Scones for Robin to have with Homemade Raspberry Jam and the all important Clotted Cream and for Elliot to have with chocolate spread!! My children love scones!! I did manage to hijack some of the cream for the shortbread!!

Pretty as a Peach!!


A pretty peach and white 2 tier sponge cake, 9"and 7", decorated with lots of tiny blossoms! Happy 70th Birthday Isobel.

Mon the Gers!!


Rangers daft John was quite happy for his cake to be supporting this scarf!! 10"Square sponge.

Going Mobile!!


Its quite hard to theme cakes for a boys 21st, but as Jonathan was sooooooooooo into his mobile, it was the obvious theme for his cake! The mobiles are made of icing! A 10" Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Tartan Feathers?!?!


A Tartan ribbon edged cake with a glass bowl filled with feathers and a feather and crystal cake topper. All toppers are made by myself so there are never any two the same.

Gold fairy lights!

The cubes in between the cakes are lit up by fairy lights that are lighting up gold organza. The brides maiden name was Gold and the theme colour for the wedding was "Gold"! The topper is fresh flowers to match the brides bouquet.

Princess!!

A Princess Castle with lots of glitter and silver balls! The board is a 20" board, so as you can see, it was a large cake!! The turrets are all edible too!!

On the rocks!!


Emily really wanted a Mermaid for her Birthday cake, so I sat her on a butter iced sponge covered with popcorn and chocolate, finished with a sugar beach!

Tinkerbell!!


The colours haven't come out very well on this photo, but it lets you see the overall effect. Tinkerbell and the other fairy are plastic keepsakes. The wee girl loved the fact that she could keep them to play with.

Butterflies!


A 2 tier Chocolate and Vanilla cake for a very girly 11 year old!! Its made with a 9" and a 7" sponge.

Mystery Machine!!


For those who have noticed, Mystery is spelt wrongly!! Fortunately I noticed and managed to take it off and do it again!! Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo when it was fixed!!! Scooby Doo is holding a Birthday Cake, which is a candle.

Ben 10

A 9" round Ben 10 cake, made with a printed icing Ben 10 picture. The icing was marbled to match the Ben 10 theme!

Veggie Patch!!

I have to be honest and tell you my daughter Jennifer actually made this cake. I had directed her what to do and she did a fantastic job!! So good, I had to share it with you! Its a 10" square sponge.

Lego Bricks!!


Is there a child or adult out there who doesnt love Lego!!

Delicious Traditional Scottish Butter Tablet. It just melts in your mouth. These were favours made for a Burns Supper and by the time I had tied 120 wee tartan bows, my fingers could tie no more!!!
I have taken my photo album and scanned in some of my past cakes for you to see!! I'm trying very hard to keep updating my Blog!!

I have had a busy past 12 months. As some of you may know, I won the title of "School Chef of the Year".
I have had a fantastic year working very hard!! If you work hard you also have to play hard!! So thats what Ive been doing!!!
My first task was to be part of the Nestle Professional stand at the LACA conference held in the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham.
I have done two pod casts for Nestle Professional, not the chocolate branch of Nestle, darn!! It will be released in March/Sept.........................watch this space!! I also did some recipe development to compliment the podcasts. These recipes will be rolled out throughout the year on their web site.
I also went to the ASSIST conference at St Andrews Bay, courtesy of Nestle, where I was presented with a "Best Achiever Award" from ASSIST. I was delighted to recieve the award!
Demonstrating to Children, Teachers and Staff from North Ayrshire Council has also been a fun part of my year, showing off my winning recipe of Turkey Kebabs and other quick, easy and healthy recipes.
I still have a few more things to do during my reign, and I will update as and when they happen.

Lilac Crystals and Feathers!!




A 10" Square vanilla sponge with a Jam and Very Vanilla butter icing filling. The cake toppers are handmade by myself, so each one is different! The cake is lightly dusted with lilac glitter!

Rubber Duckies!!!


A 2 tier sponge cake for a Rubber Duck mad 16 year old!! I tried to represent the bath water with the marbled blue, a black and white checkered bathroom floor and a lilac bath towel! Over run of course by the fondant Rubber Ducks!! There are sparklers on top in a number 16.
